Musings and comments...

When you activate The Heart of Life, it turns out that movement does not influence the effect of the activation in any way. In fact, you can activate The Heart of Life while running from the battle and it will in no way slow you down or affect your movement.

On the other hand, when you are moving, activating the Wand of Speed stops your movement and often results in your DG engaging whatever is persuing him/her.

This seems somewhat awkward and counter intuitive. Wand of speed is used when you want to run. So, stopping an already moving character when they use the wand is quite a bad thing. On the other hand, many people already complain about the heart being overpowered, yet it is usable without any hinderance. It seems to me that putting a restriction on the heart that the user must stand still while recharging would be very reasonable. Or at least when you go to 'use' the heart, your character should stop whatever else it's doing.

Never was a fan of the wand of speed.  It's cheap though... so if they were to buff it they might need to increase the cost.

Heart of Life on the other hand just needs a cooldown increase.

I'm not asking for a buff on the wand. Or a nerf on the heart. I'm asking if the current behaviour, which seems illogical, is intended.

The wand would not get a buff in any way. I just would not have to spam movement command while activating it, thereby decreasing network traffic between myself and 9 other people.

there were some complaints during the beta because the wand stop your movement, i imagine the devs will fix that after the netcode.

If I had to guess, I would say it's more a side effect of the engine design than an intentional "rule". Since the wand modifies movement speed, it's fairly feasible that the way the buff is applied behind the scenes just causes a move order to reset so the Demigod stops. Obviously, that's just my guess.

The wand is instant cast, just like the Heart of Life. There really shouldn't be any interruption of movement for either, so yes, if it does interrupt movement (haven't used it myself so don't know), then that sounds like an unintended behaviour.

The heart interrupts movement too... I hate that as I'm often being chased and don't need to stop and engage mobs.

Same with when a DG walks away from you... often times your DG will do a little dance in place and not give persuit no matter HOW MANY TIMES you click on the DG that is walking away... you have to click elsewhere first and THEN click back on the DG you were intent on killing... most times this means they're behind a tower now and you have o pull back or risk getting lured into a trap.

No instant activation should stop movement.  If it stops movement, it sould say 0.1 sec cast time.  I'll add this too my thread, I was thinking of it earlier.

I'm pretty sure that using the Heart does not make the DG stop and then move while healing.  I've using it quite a bit for retreating when overpowered (or just to get of a AoE and then go back in with full mana and life to keep attacking) and the DG doesn't break stride.
